What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. Last updated 17 August 2026.

The short version

We collect what we need to run sessions and reply to you. We do not sell anything to anybody, we do not run advertising, and your email and phone number are never shown on a public page — regardless of your other settings.

What we collect

  • When you register for a session: your name, email, mobile, and optionally your organisation, city and what you are attending as.
  • When you create an account: the above, plus anything you choose to add to your profile — photo, bio, LinkedIn, interests.
  • When you apply to contribute: your professional details and the answers you give on the form.
  • When you send a story or an enquiry: what you wrote and how to reach you.
  • When you attend: that you attended, and any feedback you give afterwards.

Why we collect it

  • To run the session and tell you where and when it is
  • To send you a reminder before it and ask for feedback after it
  • To count attendance honestly on our impact page
  • To reply to what you asked us
  • To match contributors to the people who need them

What is public

Nothing about you is public by default. A member profile becomes visible only if you switch it on, and even then you control whether your photo, organisation, bio and LinkedIn appear. Contributor profiles are published because that is the point of them, and we show you the profile before it goes up.

Your email address and mobile number are never published, on any profile, in any setting.

Who else sees it

Our own team, and the email service we use to send you messages. When a session is hosted with a partner institution, we share the attendance list with them if they need it for their own records — names and organisations, not phone numbers.

We do not sell or rent personal data to anybody, for any purpose.

How long we keep it

Registrations and feedback stay with the event record. Accounts stay until you close them. When you close an account we remove your profile and contact details, and keep only the anonymous fact that a person attended, so our historical figures stay correct.

What you can ask for

  • A copy of what we hold about you
  • A correction, if something is wrong
  • Deletion of your account and personal details
  • To stop receiving email from us — every message has an unsubscribe link

Write to hello@gullyfuture.com and we will action it within thirty days.

Cookies

We set a cookie to keep you signed in. That is it — no advertising cookies, and no third-party tracking scripts.

Children

We run sessions for school students, arranged through their school. We do not create accounts for anybody under 16, and registrations for school sessions are handled by the institution rather than the student.
