Jeevitha Pandurangaiah

Data Engineer, Vestas

Builds the data platforms that wind turbines run on, and runs a Toastmasters club — which makes her one of the few engineers who can explain the work as well as do it.

Bengaluru7 years of experienceLinkedIn

Jeevitha builds large-scale data platforms at Vestas, in wind energy — turning industrial data from turbines into datasets that machine learning, predictive maintenance and analytics can actually use.

Her seven and a half years span front-end development, AI/ML, data engineering and research. She started as a front-end developer at Pramati Technologies, built conversational AI on the RASA framework and a recommendation engine at Sutra Networks, ran PySpark and AWS migration work at Carelon Global Solutions, and has been at Vestas since 2022.

During her Master's she spent a year as a research assistant on virtual reality sensor tracking, work that improved tracking accuracy and became an IEEE publication.

She holds an MS in Data Science from East Carolina University in North Carolina, and a BE in Computer Science from Don Bosco Institute of Technology. She is certified on Databricks, SnowPro, Dataiku and AWS Solutions Architect.

She is also president of the Vestas Bangalore Toastmasters club — so alongside the technical sessions, she is one of the people to ask about speaking in front of a room without dreading it.

What they talk about

  • What a data engineer does, and how it differs from data science
  • Going abroad for a Master's — the decision, the cost and the return
  • Moving from front-end development into data
  • Speaking in front of a room when you would rather not
